Summary of the Role:
Children’s Hearing & Speech Centre of BC is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). The successful candidate will work with deaf and hard of hearing children, as well as other children requiring speech and language support, ages 3–6. The Centre is a joyful, inclusive, language-rich environment and the only Listening & Spoken Language Centre in Western Canada. While the role requires a high degree of autonomy, the SLP will be a fully integrated member of a collaborative, interdisciplinary team.
Reporting to the Team Lead, Centre Based Programs, the Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) has the primary responsibility of providing listening and spoken language intervention services to families and students with hearing loss enrolled in the Early Learning Program and Primary Programs (if required) at the Centre. Additional duties include formal and informal assessment, consultation and collaboration with classroom teachers and support staff, outside service providers and other tasks as assigned. The SLP will abide by CHSC Code of Ethics and apply best practices as outlined in CHSC policy and by the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC.
